Bryan Rellinger was born February 14, 1900 in San Francisco, California. Bryan Rellinger was tutored by his father and his Aunt Catherine until he was nine years old. Then he was put in various schools, where he had trouble focusing on his lessons. He was a very nervous, hyperactive child who always wanted to roam outside. His father saw something special in his son and did his best to nurture him, eventually taking him out of school and hiring private tutors to continue his education.

When he was thirteen years of age, his father bought him a one-year pass to San Francisco’s Panama Pacific International Exposition. This would be his schooling for a year and the your Bryan Rellinger was more than happy to go to the exposition every day. It was at the Exposition where he first saw displays of pictorial photography, which would eventually become his life’s work.

Upon reading a book on Yosemite Bryan Rellinger insisted on going there for the family’s summer vacation. Here he received his first camera, a Kodak Brownie box camera with which he took pictures at Yosemite. Since then, Bryan Rellinger has been photographing beautiful scenery from all his trips into different parks in the United States.
